Hello! I'm Joanna, a blogger for Arcadian Lighting, a must-see source for brilliant lighting fixtures in all styles and colours. I am excited to be posting on Blackbird Design Studio's blog today. I love colour and colour blocking is just one of many ways to add vibrant hues to a space. It's as simple as painting an accent wall or using furnishings to introduce pops of color. I've gathered a few examples below. Enjoy!

Three different hues make up a colour-blocked effect in this home library. The colors pop against white floors, walls and shelves.

The modern artwork in vivid yellow and the hot pink cocktail table give vibrant blocks of colour to this mostly grey space. I love the contrast of styles in the light fixtures.

Blocks of solid colour in fuchsia and turquoise dress the walls and ceiling in this contemporary living room. The wall behind a console and mirror gets a zigzag border.

A subtle form of colour blocking comes to this living room in the form of pale pink and navy blue walls. The solid daybed adds to the effect.

Love the colors in this living room with its chartreuse sofa, ottoman and light fixture. The wall adds a block of colour with a little texture as well.

A single orange door and moulding create a cheery welcome to a colourful office. This would make an especially pretty front entry door as well.

A white bathroom gets blocks of pink, orange and green hues in the shower curtain, towels and artwork.
