Whilst everyone was partying this weekend we were busy painting away in the French sunshine trying some beautiful Farrow and Ball colours for a renovation project.

Inflatable Hangers

We love ingenious ideas here at Blackbird and these Inflatable Hangers by Bosign are a great example of a 'wish we'd thought of that' idea.

Excellent to prevent those hanger marks in your clothes and perfect for traveling as they fold up really small. At only £7.95 for a pair from one of our favourite online shops 95%, we'll definitely be packing these when we head to Milan Furniture Fair this year...

Snowing in France...

If you think the weather's bad in the UK right now, spare a thought for the poor builders finishing the property in France at a bone chilling -18 degrees. We're hoping that there's a huge heatwave in time for our visit next month!

The Ultimate View

The ultimate deal breaker of any apartment is the view, be it rooftops, a park, or if you're the luckiest person in the whole world - the Sydney Opera House right across the water. Now if we could just buy this place and fill it with amazing furniture, I think we'd be happy for life! Now, let me check the piggy bank... if you have a few million knocking around, buy it here.

Eclectic by Tom Dixon

 

Famed for his iconic lighting, namely the much copied copper finish pendant lighting, Tom Dixon recently launched into furniture and accessories at Maison Objet in Paris last month. Officially launched this summer the collection called 'Eclectic' show a range of products in his signature quirky but elegant style.

The collection includes candles, bowls, kitchenware and (a rather odd) cast shoe, see more here...

Le Photo: Rat Berlin

We popped over to Berlin recently, from experience of recording street art in Berlin over the last six years we did another recording the street art session as when we return the next month it will have changed. Reclaim the streets movement is still going strong!
