BelaBela Bubble Lights UK Premier

 

Back in September we took a trip down to the annual London Design festival, and our favourite event TENT did not disappoint. With a mix of brand new designers and revitalized classics such as the much loved Ercol, the event is not only to see the next year ahead in design but to meet the designers. Lucky for us were we to stumble upon the BelaBela stand hosted by Slovenian textile and fashion designers Jana Mršnik and Vesna Štih, showing a beautiful array of sea anemone like lights which caused us to stare and stroke them for far too long! 

The upshot of this episode of mesmerized awe meant that we had the oppourtunity to meet the lovely Jana Mršnik and witter on about how much we loved the lights. With a quick demonstration on how they worked and the versatility of the product we were sold, and spent the rest of the day planning imaginary projects we could use them in.

We didn't need to wait long as the oppourtunity arose the following month at a snow themed pop up bar. Luckily the client was an enthusiastic as us to use these wonderful creations and we secured the UK premiere of the BelaBela Bubble lights.

Bubble Lights by BelaBela - made from recycled polypropylene are hand assembled to create beautiful fluffy effect. Our  bubble lights traveled all the way from Slovenia, but for a chance to buy them from somewhere closer to home your could try UK stockist Room39 in London.

Trends at LDF: Mid-Century Modern

After an exhausting yet brilliant time at London Design Festival last week, we thought we'd share with you the top trends we spotted as we power-walked round the numerous exhibitions of beautiful things. The most obvious trend around was the continuation of mid-century designs, both twists on the original like Ercol or a whole new take with Taylored Design, here are some of our favourites...

This has definitely made is want to head straight to see Lee Broom at the London Design Festival, showcasing his new collection called Salon, with beautiful 30's inspired pieces.

London Design Festival

We're really excited to be heading to the London Design Festival this week. We're planning on seeing 100% Design, TENT and Decorex, but the list of great events is endless, you could end up there for the full four days! Would have loved to see Marcel Wanders talk at the V&A, we'll have to settle for a little chatty networking after the event, and a tour round the Moooi show room. Which is to be lead by mermaids? Strange but wonderful!

We're pouring over the brochure narrowing our list of people to see, am thinking army precision timing is an essential to getting round everyone...
